Beach Day!

“To escape and sit quietly on the beach - that's my idea of paradise.”

Emilia Wickstead

Hey hey everyone! I must say, I cannot remember the last time I went to the beach. If by now you haven’t noticed, I tend to be more of an indoor person, but I have also been known to go out and venture under the sun from time to time.

That being said, after being stuck inside for over a year, this outing was WELL overdue! So after a couple of months of planning, the day finally came for us to pack our bags, grab our beach towels and head to the coast! Now I haven’t been to South Padre Island in a LOOOONG time, but it did not disappoint!

We did have a minor hiccup at our AirBNB condo, but that’s a story for another time. I’ll just say this, the 1 star review that I left them was too high—I won’t bore you with the details so let’s just forget about this part, and get to the fun!

The first night we went to this place called Clayton’s. Apparently at 9:30pm on weekends they like to shoot fireworks, and who doesn’t enjoy a bright colorful display of artificial shooting stars into the night? After the show ended, we were treated to some live music which was the perfect way to end our evening.

Saturday’s weather was absolutely perfect! Cloudy enough to keep the sun at bay with a much comfortable heat of 87°F degrees. As for crowds, we were actually in an area that didn’t have that many people, so even that was perfect. Overall it was a great day!

They are each 22.5” from each other.

The Cherry on Top to this great beach time was Sunday morning. The place we stayed at happened to be near the beach where the sun rose. So we all decided to get up early and go watch the sunrise!

Again, it was as if someone out there was purposefully making sure we had perfect weather throughout the weekend. The view was simply gorgeous from the boardwalk.

Fun fact: This frame is one of the smallest ones, yet, it’s the heaviest one!

Once the sun came out, I thought I’d go exploring the beach a little and I came across this cool little guy! Although I think he wasn’t as excited as I was because he ran back into his little hole, haha!

A few more steps and I came across these shells. I’m definitely going to need your guys’ and gals’ help with these because I have never seen anything like these before. Anybody know what they’re called? Luckily for me, I had my macro lens with me so I made sure I got some good closeups of them.

All in all, it was a very exciting weekend at the beach. We are now trying to see where else can we go to next! There’s an interesting spot up in Austin that I’ve been wanting to go check out, so who knows? Maybe our adventures will take me there next! Stay tuned!

How about you guys? Have you been able to finally get out there and explore some new places? Or perhaps some old favorites that you haven’t had a chance to go to? I’d love to hear about it!

As always, thank you for stopping by. Your time is precious and I appreciate you spending it here. If you haven’t already, make sure you don’t miss any new posts by signing up below. Take care of yourselves and see you back here in two weeks!
