Wanna Play?

“Do you know what my favorite part of the game is? The opportunity to play.”

Mike Singletary

Hello hello!

Today I have something different! This time around, rather than write a long post—I’ll try to keep it short, hehe!—I thought we could play a little game instead, so I hope you don’t mind.

I was actually inspired by this little game a friend and I began playing the other day just out of nowhere. It was a simple game of relationships. Now I don’t mean personal relationships, so don’t get scared! It basically began like this:

He and I were chatting about a concert he was going to go to, and the band had an interesting name, “Bear Tooth”. A few minutes later, I asked him again about the band, but knowing I would get a reaction out of him, I called the band “Bear Face”—just as expected, he reacted by correcting me, LOL!

A goofy argument ensued about the name, and at one point I said, “that’s a goofy name, might as well be ‘They Might Be Giants’”. We then proceeded to just start naming bands that are related to the one we mentioned previously. Needless to say, it was a fun afternoon, and a much needed break from the day’s routine.

Anyway, rather than write what I wanted to write about, I thought maybe I can get some of you to play this game with me! The rules are simple, I’ll start with the name of a band and then someone can use the comment section to write a band whose name is related to the one I mentioned. Following that first comment, the next person would have to write a band name related to the previous comment, and so on.

For example, if I say “The Monkeys”, someone could say, “Gorillaz”. Then the next person could follow that with, “The Giraffes” (they’re animals), then “White Lion”(can eat the giraffes), “White Stripes” (“White” in the name), “A Perfect Circle” (stripes can become a circle), etc.

A few more rules:

  • Must be a band name that sings in English, not an individual singer

  • Music genre doesn’t matter, as long as the majority of their songs have lyrics

  • Let’s keep it clean please

As always, thank you for stopping by. Your time is precious and I appreciate you spending it here. If you haven’t already, make sure you don’t miss any new posts by signing up below.

And here we go. I will start with one of my favorite bands:

U2

And Go!
