No, this is not going to be another post about fruits and their benefits. Rather, I want to simply chat about some of the many sayings or quotes that are out there involving a few fruits. I’m sure there are some that you’ve heard before, while others, perhaps not so much. Some will be cute and others insightful. Hope you enjoy them.
An apple a day keeps the doctor away.
Let’s start with one that everyone has heard plenty of times. This is great if you love apples, but not so if you’re not crazy about them. OR how about a Candy apple?? Now those I could eat one every day!
“This banana wants you to be happy. Look, it’s even smiling at you!”
Hehe! I thought this was a cute one. I wonder if it would work on kids to get them to eat more bananas? You know, this reminds of a story from when I was a kid. Back then, my parents would REALLY struggle to get me to eat—wish that was the case now, haha! So my mom would tell me that food was sad and crying because I didn’t want to eat it. Well me being the sentimental kid that I was, I would fall for that and I’d end up eating my food, so that it wouldn’t be sad. My mom was a trickster!
In a world full of apples, be a Pineapple.
Ahhh the endless struggle of always trying to be unique. I’m definitely guilty. Although, I’m not as bad as I used to be, especially in college. In 2002, when the first Spider-Man movie came out with Tobey Maguire, I had gone into Spencer’s with a friend. There was this REALLY cool Spider-Man visor that I was going to buy. Well my friend saw it and liked it as well, so he grabbed one. Of course, I asked him to please not get it because I was going to get it. Well him being the awesome friend that he was, said NO, and ran to the register and bought it… I ended up not getting it because now someone I knew had it.
Handle the vine like a man, the wine like a woman.
This one is pretty simple, yet so true—from Ed Lino. Even when you’re trying to get some grapes at the super market, if you’re not careful, several will just fall off the vine—very disheartening. So be kind to grapes and they will be sweet to you!
