Angels Amongst Us

“I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set him free.”

—Michelangelo

After being on lockdown for this past year, I finally got to travel this week. Nothing major, just a quick 5 hour drive for work and back, with an overnight stay. On the way back, some goober almost hit me as they were entering the highway. Of course, they weren’t paying attention and didn’t realize I was right next to them. I had to slam on my brakes while looking at the people behind me through the rearview mirror. Luckily I was able to make enough space for them to merge into my lane and continue on their way.

I definitely felt like there was someone watching over me today, perhaps an Angel! That really stuck with me so I thought I’d share with you a few of the Angels that surround my life protecting me and my loved ones. Don’t worry, this will not be another scary post like my previous Weeping Angels one hehe!

We’ll start with this little keychain from James Avery. While technically it’s not an actual Angel, it is Saint Christopher—the patron saint of travelers. My mom gave me this several years ago and it’s the main keychain holding my vehicle’s key, so it goes with me everywhere!

Next is a small clay plaque with the image of a Guardian Angel. She’s keeping a watchful eye over two little ones as they stroll along the woods. This plaque is near our main door making sure no bad things come into our home!

Here we have a concrete Angel. These are usually kept in yards or patios, so as time goes by, they become weather beaten—which adds to their unique look. We normally keep him outside in our small patio casting a watchful eye over the entire property. I’ve thought about cleaning him and painting him, but we kind of like this look better.

And I had to save the best for last. Nurse Abby was an amazing Angel who took care of my dad while he was in the hospital. She was a very special kind of nurse who was always there for him and went the extra mile to make sure he was taken care of. Wherever you are Abby, I will be forever thankful!

How about you? Have you come across any Angels with whom you share a special bond? I’d love to hear about it in the comment section below.

As always, thank you for stopping by. Your time is precious and I appreciate you spending it here. If you haven’t already, make sure you don’t miss any new posts by signing up below. Take care of yourselves and see you back here in two weeks!
