The Circle of Light!

“I don’t believe that life is linear. I think of it as circles—concentric circles that connect.”

—Michelle Williams

Today we have a little psychedelic and abstract topic. Light Painting has been something I’ve been interested in for a while, but never really had a chance to try it myself. While I was looking into that, I found a sort of “rabbit hole” inside the Light Painting rabbit hole I had already gone into.

I found myself looking at multiple videos of how people do all these funky, abstract, geometric images with light. They basically are Spirograph-like images using a small lightbulb and a super steady camera.

The more I did it, the more complex and intricate they became, and the more I wanted to keep doing it. It was very addicting! I found myself scrounging around for different things that could change the color of the light.

In the end, I even began not just letting the small light do its work, but also moving the camera around on the ground just to see what else I could do. I must say, this has been quite an “Enlightening” experience! Haha! I’m already thinking of a few more things I’d like to try out while I’m on this Light Painting kick!

Who knows? If I get to do them, I might have an additional post or two about painting with light! What do you think? Have you ever wanted to do something abstract like this? Perhaps you’ve already had an experience painting with light that you’d like to share? I’d love to hear all about it!

As always, thank you for stopping by. Your time is precious and I appreciate you spending it here. If you haven’t already, make sure you don’t miss any new posts by signing up below. Take care of yourselves and see you back here in two weeks!
