Can you say "Matryoshka"?

“It’s always interesting exploring something that has dimensions and layers to it.”

Today I want to share with you a couple of interesting finds I came across a couple of weeks ago: a pair of vintage Matryoshka Dolls, or also known as Nesting Dolls. What I find so interesting about these is that I had never seen these particular designs. Normally they are just painted with different female representations, but these are just unique if not bizarre, at least to me! Haha!

After doing some research, apparently there are quite a variety of political Matryoshka Dolls, as well as different versions of this particular set of Russian ex-presidents. Here we have a total of 7 Dolls starting with Boris Yeltsin as the biggest one, and followed by Mikhail Gorbachev, Leonid Brezhnev, Nikita Krushchev, Joseph Stalin, Vladimir Lenin, and Czar Nicholas II.

The next one is also a bit bizarre. While it’s clearly a representation of Mickey Mouse, this Christmas set of Matryoshka Dolls does not show him in the standard Disney garb. Instead, he’s shown wearing a white long sleeve shirt, and a pair of red overalls. I think it’s amazing the detail shown in the smallest one being just a tiny bit smaller than a quarter!

No matter what sizes they are, they all seem to be highly decorated and make for very interesting conversation pieces!

Hope you enjoyed looking over these unique… toys? Haha! Do you happen to have some of these nesting dolls yourself? What about them do you find most interesting? I’d very curious to learn about them.

As always, thank you for stopping by. Your time is precious and I appreciate you spending it here. If you haven’t already, make sure you don’t miss any new posts by signing up below. Take care of yourselves and see you back here in two weeks!
