Snow Day!

“Snow provokes responses that reach right back to childhood.”

—Andy Goldsworthy

This week has been quite the experience. I know that for all the people that live up north, a simple snow storm this time of year is nothing new. Curiously enough, for a city that hasn’t seen this much snow since 1985, we sure weren’t ready!

Well even through all the power outages, and other challenges, I couldn’t help but to feel like a little kid. Not to mention the fact that this was my very first time I had seen this much snow. So yes, you can bet that I went out there and played in it! Did I make a snow angel you ask? Umm… of course! That’s like a must for anyone’s first real Snow Day.

I do have to say one thing, all this playing in the snow brought back some very fond memories of good old Calvin from Calvin & Hobbes. If you’ve never heard of this comic strip, I strongly suggest you give it a try. He was well known to create some very unique snowmen.

They were my inspiration for my very own “horror snowman”. What do you think? Does it make the cut for Calvin’s Snowman House of Horror”?

Funny enough, I also found a strip that I think summarizes quite well how northerners feel about our little Snow “situation”. Haha!

Do any of you have any neat and/or funny Snow Day stories? I’d love to hear how you spent your days while Uri made his way across your neck of the woods.

As always, thank you for stopping by. Your time is precious and I appreciate you spending it here. If you haven’t already, make sure you don’t miss any new posts by signing up below. Take care of yourselves and see you back here in two weeks!
